About 8 years back I had written about Have you prepared for your loved ones Life after your Death? Here in this link: https://www.sajanspeaks.com/what-after-your-life-have-you-made-it-easier-for-those-left-behind/ . I am writing now again on something which can save you even more.
Few months back, I was desperately looking to take a Life Insurance for my mom who is over 70+. Finally with help of a Veteran, recipient of two international awards in his field, Col R Srinivas, (Mob no 7400160159) NDA 71st course Director, Galaxy Associates, an insurance company in partnership with top insurance companies catering and providing complementary services purely for Defence Personnel, I was able to get a decent coverage. It cost me and my brother, about 2.6 Lakhs for a 3-year coverage. As children, we thought we have done the best we can for our mom. I also took another insurance for my family consisting of four of us. Even though we, are covered under ECHS, sometimes, specialized treatments may not be possible and in an emergency certain hospitals may not be empaneled with ECHS. So, in all I felt I have done everything in my power to protect the lives of my family members should our luck not be with us in an emergency life threatening situation. I was wrong.
Let us say, my child who is driving every day to his work and back, meets with an untoward accident, his mobile screen broken. Who will inform me? Who will rush him to the nearest best hospital? How will they know that he is fully covered under insurance? How will the doctor know that he is allergic to this/ that and has this previous medical condition/ medication? To all these questions there is an answer – My Life Saver App. It is your very own Quick Reaction Team.

This is not a promotion or Marketing, I am genuinely sharing to help us, save lives. I was impressed when I happened to speak to another Veteran, Col Dinesh Dhingra, ASC, 79 NDA Course, now residing in Jaipur, who is the brain behind this. In 2017, while he was posted in Ambala, he got a message in his course WhatsApp group that one of his friend’s wife, had met with an accident near Ambala. By the time he reached the site, she had already been evacuated by the police, to a civil hospital where the doctor’s said that she is in no condition to be shifted to the nearest Military Hospital. In the end, her life was saved but they had to pay a hospital bill of 7 lakhs, whereas had she been shifted to the Military Hospital which was very close to the accident site, she could have been treated much earlier and at no cost. That was the start of the idea. Over the years, Col Dhingra has spent his time and money to create this App which must be kept in our phones by each one of us.

My Life Saver App is a powerful emergency alert app that works ONLINE, OFFLINE, and even with MISSED CALLS. It’s designed to protect us during extreme emergencies by notifying our trusted contacts, rescuers, or authorities, even when there is no internet access. It is indeed your QRT!
Accidents: My Life Saver App works through QR Code scanning. We can paste our personalised QR code (given by the App) on our Helmet/ Car/ Bike/ Bag/ Rear of Phone. Any rescuer at the accident site, can scan the code. Immediately a SMS/ WhatsApp message with location and contact number of rescuer, is sent by the App, to the friends and family members of the victim, who then can reach out to the location immediately. It also has the facility to inform the Doctor about the medical history details and insurance cover that is available. This will save precious time in providing the best care while the near and dear ones can reach the person. This facility also works through non-smart button phones where the rescuer has to dial a number and a Unique code which will then initiate calls to the friends and family along with details on SMS.

I feel this would be a boon to everyone and must be mandated by Law/ Police to all drivers on highways to help the accident victims immediately.
Blood Donors: The App also has a list of blood donors in the area so that blood can be sourced immediately.
Individual Safety: The App also provide a SOS button. This is a must for our girls. When the SOS button is pressed by the individual, an immediate notification is sent to the family and friends silently. It also provides a SOS Loud button which will make a loud sound so that the nearby people are alerted for an emergency. Example: a person getting into a heart attack or feeling giddy can use this to ask for help.
Lost and Found: The App also has a facility for a QR code to be printed and pasted on important objects like purse/ handbags/ luggage’s/ ID Cards etc. The finder scans the QR Code and immediately Lost and Found message will reach the owner along with the finder’s mobile number. This will help us contact the finder, to recover the lost item quickly.
Cost: This App is subscription based. When you compare with the cost of Insurance, the cost of the MyLifeSaver App subscription works out to be 0.7% as in the case for my mom. It is about less that 600/- for an entire year, as against 85000/- for the insurance per year. I wish the Govt mandates it for all insurance companies to ensure this app is part of their service.
